About the project
The California Jazz Conservatory is a nationally accredited music conservatory providing a dynamic community of students, artists, educators, scholars and audiences with a forum to study, perform, teach, research, appreciate and enjoy jazz and related styles of music from throughout the world.
This recent tenant improvement project building is located in Berkeley’s designated downtown arts district. Our scope of work consisted of adding a recital room, reception, practice and rehearsal rooms, café, administrative office, storage, and bathrooms. The staff worked closely with the architects to ensure historical accuracy of the building, while integrating the sound quality they required. Technology and modern conveniences were also high on their priority list.
