About the project
This seven story, 141 unit occupied rehab included a voluntary seismic upgrade to an early PT modular constructed building. This included the replacement of the hearing and cooling system, new solar panels and a new generator. More challenging was the change from hydraulic to traction elevators, taking them individually out of commission. Other modifications included a new alarm and nurse call system, new MEP throughout and new interior finishes in all areas.
On the exterior new landscaping, walkways, trellises and a community garden were added in addition to a new A/C pavement for revised parking areas, new fencing and lighting that was brought up to Title 24 standards. More photos here: Gelfand Partners Architects
