About the project

This project of passion for the nonprofit Kimochi Inc. represents their first steps to expanding outside of San Francisco to support the Peninsula communities.  Before construction, the building was a dated nursing home with shared restrooms and a common central shower, that had not been used in ten years.  The complete overhaul allowed for the conversion to an assisted living facility.

It now has 14 small personal living units with private ADA showers and a state of the art modern commercial kitchen for the staff to provide meals not only to their residents but to other eligible community residents through Meals on Wheels.  This project included full MEP replacement, new roofing, fire sprinklers, skylights, patio doors and windows, complete interior and exterior painting and a new front facade with landscaping.
