Construction of two wood-frame buildings, rated as multi-use occupancy and Type V, 1-hour construction, requiring installation of a fire protection system. The new 20,000 gross sq. ft. buildings provide classrooms, theater and assembly areas, staff offices, and a garage for the zoo mobile. Located both in a valley and on a hill, the project involved extensive site work, including an elaborate drainage system, 18-inch retaining walls, and a V-ditch at the building perimeter to provide water protection. Finishes include custom tile work in entry, including interior staircase. |
