BBI Construction to Host Free OSHA 10 Certification Training

Working in conjunction with the Friendship Senior Housing developers, CHDC & Friendship Christian Center, B.U.I.L.D. Bringing Underemployed Individuals to Local Developers and BBI Construction will host classes at DeFremery Park (Adeline & 19th) in West Oakland. This interactive training is intended  for  entry-level  workers  as  an orientation to  the construction industry. It covers  safety and health  hazards that workers  may face on any construction work site.  Our  course  puts  emphasis on hazard  identification, avoidance, control and prevention.

2 Day Classes 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday/Sunday

BBI Partners with Chinatown Community Development Center to Provide Affordable Housing to San Francisco

Working in partnership with our client, the Chinatown Community Development Center (CCDC), BBI is proud to deliver a three building phased project with 100% low-income affordable housing in San Francisco. As part of the Throughline Project, three buildings; Elderly Bay Housing (Senior Housing), Consorcia (Multifamily), and Tower Hotel (SRO) received extensive renovation to create beautifully upgraded living spaces.

To successfully complete this project for our client, BBI coordinated with between 20 to 30 specialized subcontractors and vendors, our design partner, Saida & Sullivan, and city agencies.

Alameda Point Collaborative and BBI Construction Celebrate Groundbreak for Alameda Respite & Wellness Center

Our team celebrated the ground-break ceremony at the Alameda Point Collaborative Respite and Wellness Center. The event was attended by local, county and state elected officials, and partners involved in this project. The center will offer services and respite care to unhoused citizens in Alameda County. The BBI team looks forward to working with our partners in this project and to continue building solutions to assist the most vulnerable members of our communities. This project is owned by Alameda Point Collaborative and designed by Ankrom Moisan.

BBI Celebrates 1000 Sutter – and 200 Affordable Housing Units – to San Francisco

As part of the ongoing focus of the BBI Team to create more much-needed affordable housing in the Bay Area, San Francisco’s Granada Hotel or 1000 Sutter Project is one of our newest rehabilitations in the community. This beautiful building provides 200 updated, clean, and comfortable SRO units for those in need.

Despite the many challenges of restoring and upgrading an historic San Francisco building, our team succeeded through close collaboration with the city, various agencies, and teams of hardworking and dedicated experts.

BBI Construction to Host Job Fair at West Oakland Library

Working in conjunction with the Friendship Senior Housing Developers, CHDC, Friendship Christian Center and B.U.I.L.D. Bringing Underemployed Individuals to Local Developers we will have a job fair every other month. We are looking for local candidates interested in the construction industry.

These events will be occurring every other month at the Oakland Library West Oakland Branch on the following dates:

Wednesday, October 25th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
December 13, 2023 from 11:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m.
February 14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m.
April 10, 2024 from 11:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m.
June 12, 2024 from 11:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m.

1904 Adeline –  BBI to construct Affordable Senior Living in West Oakland

BBI Construction is pleased to announce the upcoming Friendship Senior Housing Development in partnership with Community Housing Development Corporation (CHDC) and designed by Kodama Diseno Architects. This ground-up project will be constructed in conjunction with Friendship Christian Center in West Oakland. This organization is a community pillar that has worked tirelessly to make this project a reality and to bring hope into the lives of families and individuals in the community. The 4 story building will provide 50 units of affordable housing to senior citizens. Residents will have access to open spaces for gathering as well as access to public transit options.

Moe Wright of BBI Construction Named as an Affordable Housing Month Honoree

Moe Wright has been named as an Affordable Housing Month Honoree by East Bay Housing Organizations. The well-being of other people is important to him. Moe was one of the founders and a long-time supporter of the Berkeley Ecumenical Chaplaincy for the Homeless. He has spent countless hours working with various programs and in various capacities with the First Congregational Church of Berkeley, Pacific School of Religion, Rebuilding Together, Goodwill Industries of the Greater Bay Area and Everyone Home in Alameda County (just to mention a few).

Moe has also contributed to the affordable housing community by dedicating his efforts to pass Measure A1- Alameda County Affordable Housing Bonds and Measure W – Sales Tax To Help Fight Homelessness in Alameda County.

During his 47-year career at BBI Construction, Moe provided thoughtful leadership to the teams rehabilitating and constructing innumerable affordable housing projects.
Nowadays, Moe is actively involved with several organizations to keep building communities.

BBI Announces the Grand Opening of Loro Landing: 62 Units of Affordable Housing

The BBI Team attended the Ribbon Cutting and is excited to announce the Grand Opening of Loro Landing (previously Parrott St. Apartments). We are so proud and thankful to the whole team who came together to overcome every challenge, advance the project and make it to the finish line. This new Transit Oriented Development Project located in San Leandro across the street from BART, will provide 62 units of affordable housing to veterans and low income families.
